Orton-Gillingham
Educational Therapy
for Dyslexia
KIDWORKS PROGRAM
While some children learn well in a classroom environment, some students need a multisensory approach to be engaged in the learning process.
This is where Orton-Gillingham succeeds.
The Orton-Gillingham approach is provided using a one-to-one technique with each lesson specifically designed to meet individual needs.
Students are taught to read, spell and write using a dynamic learning approach that engages all four learning channels: auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic.
Orton-Gillingham instruction meets the recommendations of the International Dyslexia Association as an effective reading approach for students with language-based learning difficulties.
The Orton Gillingham method of structured literacy encompasses phonology, sound-symbol association, syllable instruction, morphology, syntax, and semantics provided with systematic, cumulative, explicit, and diagnostic instruction.
